Spring NO Break!

I don't even know where to begin!!! Jason, Jack, and James (and me, since I homeschool) have been on spring break this week. And it's been action-packed thus far. Our first day was spent getting as many little things on our list done around the house as possible. The next day was beautiful and we couldn't resist a picnic at the zoo. We just love this sweet little zoo. There's even a train ride around the grounds.

I love the way James is looking at Jude here.

This is me peeking on Jude while he naps. It's so cute when I peek in and see his little eyes wide open looking for mine.

The zoo has a great playground for the kids...even Jason enjoys it!

Isn't this baby delicious?!? So huggable!

Jack and James look thrilled to have a picture with me!

Later that evening we packed up for Atlanta! We left first thing Monday morning and our first stop was IKEA! The kids enjoyed SmallLand while we shopped. After IKEA, we went to REI. We bought a TENT!!! and a BOB stroller. The tent comes into play later in the week. We then checked into the hotel and went swimming. James finally started swimming with his head under water for the first time!!! He's so excited to show his swim teacher when he goes back to his lessons. That night we visited my cousin JRay and hung out with his girlfriend and her kiddos. They were so fun to visit! JRay even took James for a ride in his JEEP!

The next morning we went to the aquarium...the Georgia Aquarium! Oh my...what an aquarium! It's the largest in the world and absolutely beautiful! We had been one other time in 2008 I think it was. They've added on since we went. The DolphinTales Show was amongst the newest attractions and it was very entertaining. I couldn't stop watching the boys watching in awe!

Petting sharks was a big hit!

All Jack could think about was eating those crab. He loves crab.

The beluga whales were amazing. The one in this picture is pregnant and expecting in April!!! You can see her swollen belly. The calf will weigh as much as a small adult!

Waiting for the dolphin show.

This room is breathtaking! Floor to (very high) ceiling aquarium!

This was fun. You can stick your head right up into the penguin habitat.

Jude loved the aquarium too!

After the aquarium, we went back to the hotel pool. Then to dinner, then back to IKEA!!! Yes, a second trip to IKEA! We love that place.

On Wednesday, I started to feel run down. We had not told the boys about the new LegoLand Discovery Center that just opened...and with me not feeling too great, we thought about just heading back to Montgomery. But, we really wanted to treat them to LegoLand since they are HUGE Lego fans. So, we started to drive there and only told them we were taking them somewhere special. Then we started giving them hints. "If you fight, I'll ask you to LEGO of each other" "you put them together, you take them apart, and sometimes you look at them and don't even know where to start" etc...

It's located in a mall. The parking garage is under the mall. The signs led us to the specific underground elevator. Jack had still not noticed the LegoLand signs. Which ended up being perfect because we took the glass elevator up and as we looked out the glass, LegoLand appeared! It was so dramatic and perfect! They were so excited!

Building their race cars.

After LegoLand, we ate at The Varsity and then headed back to Montgomery. I went downhill fast. I spent the next two nights and days in bed! The boys, however managed to squeeze in backyard camping. Jason, Jack, and James had hotdogs and s'mores. Although, making the s'mores was more appealing than eating them. James said in the same breath, "These are disgusting. Thank you for letting us make s'mores, Dad." They stayed up until 10pm telling stories.

Whew...and here we are...Friday. It's been action-packed. Saturday and Sunday are reserved for recooping!
