This morning I decided to take a look at the garden. I rarely get to go out there first thing in the morning because we get busy with breakfast, getting dressed, getting teeth brushed, and rushing out the door to get Jack to school! However, this morning we had time to relax. So, out to the garden I went to check on our cucumbers. As I was looking around, I saw something dangling from one of the praying mantis sacks! And low and behold, it was a huge clump of baby praying mantises! What a sight! I'm so glad I saw it when I did, because within 15 minutes the clump had dispersed! They fell one by one into the garden or climbed to the top of our tomato stakes. It was truly a fascinating sight!
We also have a resident caterpillar living on our parsley. We keep hoping he'll hurry up and make a cacoon before he eats all of our parsley! However, we have more parsley than we know what to do with...so we're willing to share.
